Why we launched.

Many things are changing in the recruitment markets and we wanted to do something that would help make recruitment consultancies more efficient and thereby more competitive. 

Since we’ve been involved with recruitment there has only ever been one model, the PSL model. It is based on the principal that the Client should appoint a few Recruiters to go and find the candidates they require and exclude all others.  
 
As the market evolves and In-House teams start to replicate this model, the size and complexion of the remaining market will change forever unless the agency sector fights back with something new. 
 
This is where Vacancy-Clearing comes in.    


Vacancy-Clearing is a website which enables Employers to ask a large number of Recruiters if they have a certain type of candidate, without necessarily revealing who they are at the outset.  
 
By providing this interface between the Employer and the Agency market we are able to harness a powerful resourcing network to look at the candidates it is dealing with today, rather than asking a PSL to start looking for those that may be available tomorrow.  
 
All this means that Employers now have a choice between the traditional PSL model, which we believe suits a certain type of recruitment and our Open-Market model which suits another.

When I first entered the recruitment industry I was struck by how many great independent firms there were but because they were small they had little or no profile in the market other than amongst their own clients.
 
This is when I first had the idea for Vacancy-Clearing. It gets its name from the University Clearing model, which fills places at 100s of Unis by monitoring in real-time, what's available and who's looking.
